The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) has just published Notice of Special Interest (NOSI): Consequences of Prenatal Fentanyl Exposure. The purpose of this NOSI is to promote research on neurobehavioral, neurological, and potential teratogenic effects of prenatal fentanyl exposure in humans and in animal models. Research Areas may include, but are not limited to epidemiology, preclinical models, human development, and potential prenatal fentanyl syndrome – its characterization, mechanism, and treatment options.
